THE SECRET OF KELLS

RYAN: The Secret of Kells is that Oscar nominated movie in the animated category that everyone was like, “What?”

CAROLINE: Totally! No one ever heard of it cos it’s, like, an indie-foreign film.

RYAN: I don’t think it was actually foreign but it was “like” foreign.

CAROLINE: Exactly. And since I barely do animated films… what did you think of it?

RYAN: Yawn.

CAROLINE: Really? Why, boring?

RYAN: Pretty much. It felt like a history lesson even though it’s not a true story.

CAROLINE: The animation looks kinda cool though.

RYAN: Yeah it’s a pretty film but that’s not enough to hold your attention. I noticed several people sleeping in the screening I was at – and I thought, “Well I’m gonna watch. I’m not tired…” And then sure enough, about ten minutes later I was practically asleep too.

CAROLINE: [laughs’ Naptime. Lovely.

— BOTTOM LINE —

RYAN: It’s really just a waste of time. Only an hour and fifteen minutes but it felt like forever. How do you do that to a kids’ movie?
