PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 3
RYAN: So I caved in and attended the third Paranormal Activity movie.
CAROLINE: Oh God. We hated the first one and you said the second wasn’t much better.
RYAN: Well this is definitely the best of the three but that really isn’t saying much. Really.
CAROLINE: Why am I not surprised?
RYAN: It’s actually a prequel to the first two where we look into the childhood of the main girl from them.
CAROLINE: I so don’t even care.
RYAN: But actually this one is a little bit scarier in the sense that a little more actually happens. Don’t get me wrong, it’s equally painful in its slow pacing and all of these movies require much patience but this one had some real effects. And by some, I mean two.
CAROLINE: [laughs’ They make these movies for, like, ten dollars and then they go on to make millions.
RYAN: Why didn’t we think of that?
CAROLINE: Exactly.
RYAN: The lead guy in this one is kinda hot but he’s a bad actor. As usual, it’s all about the editing and the suspense. There really isn’t any music in this but some ghost sound effects.
CAROLINE: Well there’s obviously an audience for this kind of thing, ever since The Blair Witch Project. At least by now no one’s buying that it’s supposed to be real anymore.
RYAN: Too true. And although some of the elements here are creepy, at best, it’s overall just a tedious, cheap horror movie.
