New on DVD!

The sweaty, muscle-y war movie “300” comes out on DVD today with a 2-disc special edition featuring the usual audio commentary from the director and deleted scenes, as well as featurettes about ancient Sparta. In case you missed it in theaters, the movie stars Gerard Butler (who worked out like a maniac for 4 months to get in shape for the film), and is based on the graphic novel by Frank Miller.

Also out on DVD today: “Hot Fuzz,” the British cop comedy starring a bunch of Brits like Bill Nighy and Simon Pegg. Whilst the film is raw-ther amusing, the DVD doesn’t have much in the way of special features or extras, so don’t get your knickers in a twist.
