New On DVD
CAROLINE: Angelina’s badass summer flick, “Wanted,” is new on DVD today. I remember being insanely jealous of how hot she is whilst watching this movie.
RYAN: Even I was lusting after her. This movie was awesome – one of my favorite action films ever.
CAROLINE: I liked it, but it’s definitely a boy movie. The action was great, but some of it was a little over-the-top for me.
RYAN: There’s a 2-disc special edition of the DVD with deleted scenes and lots of featurettes on the making of the movie. Definitely worth a rental. I might even have to go out and buy it.
CAROLINE: If you rent this one, try to watch it on a big, awesome TV; the special effects are worth it.
RYAN: Next up we have the mildly amusing Will Ferrell/John C. Reilly comedy, “Step Brothers.”
CAROLINE: I liked parts of this movie, but mostly it was pretty stupid. Great cast though, and Mary Steenburgen looks great.
RYAN: I find both John and Will very unattractive, so it was hard for me to watch them on the big screen for an extended period of time.
CAROLINE: There are definitely funnier comedies from this year to rent, like “Tropic Thunder” or “Get Smart.”
RYAN: For sure. Lastly, new on DVD today is “The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian,” which I loved but you refused to see.
CAROLINE: I saw the first Narnia movie but didn’t feel at all compelled to see this one.
RYAN: Honey, I’m telling you it was even better than the first one, which is rare for a sequel. There’s great drama and romantic tension, and Tilda Swinton is amazing.
CAROLINE: I’m not convinced. To me this is a children’s movie.
RYAN: Perhaps, but there’s so much more going on than that. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend it as a rental.
