New on DVD
CAROLINE: One of your favorite movies of the year, “10,000 B.C.” is new on DVD today.
RYAN: Please – that’s not even a little bit funny. This movie was absurd, and you know I hated it.
CAROLINE: I know! And I’m so glad I didn’t have to see it with you. Guess I won’t be renting it any time soon.
RYAN: No, you really needn’t. The DVD has deleted scenes and an alternate ending for those who care, but I can’t imagine who would. I will say the special effects are unbelievably good though.
CAROLINE: Let’s move on – “Definitely, Maybe” is also new on DVD today. This one is a romantic dramedy starring Ryan Reynolds and lil’ Abigail Breslin.
RYAN: And lots of great ladies like Elizabeth Banks, Rachel Weisz and Isla Fisher.
CAROLINE: I remember liking this movie a lot, but then this past weekend it was playing on a flight I was on and I wasn’t inspired to re-watch it. It’s very cute though, and it even got me misty.
RYAN: Abigail Breslin is excellent in it too, unlike her latest turn in “Kit Kittredge: An American Girl.”
CAROLINE: The DVD has audio commentary with the director, Adam Brooks, and Ryan Reynolds, as well as deleted scenes and a couple making-of featurettes. I think it’s worth a rental.
RYAN: Definitely. Maybe. I also want to mention “The Spiderwick Chronicles,” which is new on DVD today too. It’s a kids’ movie and it’s not a must-see, but the effects were really great.
CAROLINE: And it stars lil’ Freddie Highmore if you like that sort of thing.
