New on DVD

New DVDs coming out today include: the John Travolta/William H. Macy/Tim Allen/Martin Lawrence travesty known as “Wild Hogs” which inexplicably raked in the big bucks earlier this year. Seriously. People couldn’t get enough of four overpaid geezers riding motorcycles cross country. The film is rife with homophobia and lame jokes, but one standout is our perennial favorite, John C. McKinley (Dr. Cox on “Scrubs”) as a highway patrolman who busts the quartet for lewd behavior.

Also new on DVD, a surprisingly good movie considering that it came out in April; “Fracture,” starring Anthony Hopkins and Ryan Gosling, who should be a bigger movie star than he is. It’s a courtroom drama that allows Sir Anthony to showcase his Hannibal Lecter-esque creepiness, and Ryan Gosling to show that he can hold his own against Mr. Hopkins. Definitely worth renting.
