New on DVD

RYAN: It’s a big day for DVD releases, with several movies we saw and loved – or at least liked – coming out today, starting with Jodie Foster’s “The Brave One.”

CAROLINE: We got to go to the premiere of this movie, which was very cool. Jodie Foster plays a serious badass and even got nominated for a GG for this movie.

RYAN: Also out today is a movie I thought I liked but then in hindsight kind of didn’t, “Across the Universe.”

CAROLINE: OMG I loved this movie! I loved the Beatles songs, I thought the actors were amazing and it just totally worked for me. The story was so great and kind of trippy.

RYAN: I think that’s what I didn’t like. It was too hippie-ish for me.

CAROLINE: But you also barely know any Beatles songs, so that didn’t help your movie-going experience. It’s such a cool flick; do rent it if you get a chance. The DVD has audio commentary from director Julie Taymor.

RYAN: Also out today is “Elizabeth: The Golden Age,” starring one of my favorite actresses in one of my less than favorite movies of hers.

CAROLINE: Cate Blanchett rocks, but this movie was just odd. Except for the fabulousness that is Clive Owen.

RYAN: Meanwhile, Cate got nominated for an Oscar for it, a nomination which totally should have gone to Angelina Jolie instead. Finally, for our last DVD we have “2 Days in Paris,” written and directed by and starring Julie Delpy.
CAROLINE: It also stars Adam Goldberg, and they are both great in this as a bickering couple of two years.

RYAN: Their chemistry is fabulous. Do yourself a favor and rent this immediately.

Thanks For Viewing The New on DVD
