New on DVD

CAROLINE: Apparently the rule of generally bad films coming out in January also applies to DVD releases. Today we have “The Game Plan” starring The Rock and some little girl who may or may not ever work again in Hollywood.

RYAN: Neither of us could be bothered to see this film in the theater, and I can pretty much guarantee that we won’t be renting it any time soon.

CAROLINE: As you know, I’m not a big fan of the kiddie films, and certainly not ones involving football. But for anyone who cares about sports, there are some DVD extras like blooper with Marv Albert, deleted scenes and some featurettes on ESPN and how The Rock learned to play quarterback.

RYAN: I couldn’t be less interested.

CAROLINE: Also out on DVD today is “Saw IV.” I stopped seeing these movies after the first one. Frankly, I can’t believe there are four.

RYAN: Do you know how much dough these movies rake in? They’re not going to stop making them any time soon. Though I sometimes enjoy the “Saw” franchise, I didn’t see this one in the theater. I might rent it though… they can be pretty chilling and fun to watch.

CAROLINE: This DVD comes out in a regular version as well as an unrated director’s cut. I can only imagine the level of gore. I’ll pass, thank you.

RYAN: Other special features on the DVD are deleted scenes, audio commentary from the producers and some featurettes on the props and traps in the film.

CAROLINE: Count me out, thank you very much.

RYAN: Yeah, who are we kidding? I’ll probably never see it either.

Thanks For Viewing The New on DVD
