Movie News – New Director for “Twilight” Sequel

RYAN: It’s just been announced that Catherine Hardwicke, who directed “Twilight,” will not be back to direct its sequel!

CAROLINE: Drama!

RYAN: I’m glad of it.

CAROLINE: [laughs’ You and Renee Zellweger!

RYAN: Seriously, Hardwicke had directed “Thirteen,” but was completely in over her head with “Twilight.”

CAROLINE: I agree a more seasoned director would hopefully do bigger things with the franchise. And, LBH, let’s be honest, it’s a huge, big deal now. What’s the title of the next one?

RYAN: “New Moon” and Hardwicke was in the running to direct it.

CAROLINE: Do we know who will direct it now?

RYAN: Summit Entertainment hasn’t yet announced it. But the cast is back and they want to move quickly, considering the first one made $139 million in its first three weeks.

CAROLINE: Incredible! I guess we must brace ourselves for more vampires.

RYAN: There’s supposed to be a werewolf in the next one, too.

CAROLINE: Will Frankenstein be in the third?

RYAN: [laughs’ One can only hope!
