Movie News – Jersey Boys the Musical

CAROLINE: I finally have a little sense of what you must feel like when you get all giddy-essited about Harry Potter movie updates because I’m actually thrilled to learn one of the best Broadway musicals I’ve ever seen is getting the big screen treatment.

RYAN: Jersey Boys! I know! You actually took me to see this show and I agree with you – it was a revelation on stage. I really hope they cast it well because I think it could be an even better translation to film than Mamma Mia! which I loved.

CAROLINE: I’m a little worried about the casting though. We were fortunate enough to see the original cast; and they were all brilliant.

RYAN: Completely. And there were some innovative touches that made it a remarkable stage experience – I wonder if that will underwhelm on the screen but I hope not.

CAROLINE: Frankie Valli is reported to be on board as a producer so hopefully he’ll make it at least as good.

RYAN: I’m all for musical movies. They are my fave, especially when they’re based on great musicals. This has gotta be better than Nine was.

CAROLINE: Oh honey, no contest!
