Movie News – Anne Hathaway to Play Judy Garland!

CAROLINE: It was announced yesterday that one of your favorite actresses, Anne Hathaway, has just signed on to play your classic Hollywood fave – Judy Garland – on both stage and screen and we have yet to hash it out!

RYAN: It’s out of control.

CAROLINE: That’s a bit of an exaggeration.

RYAN: Well although I love them both, I’m not quite thrilled with this casting announcement.

CAROLINE: Why not?

RYAN: Well, they’re so different. Judy was 4’11”. Anne is 5’8″.

CAROLINE: Okay. What else?

RYAN: Anne is so young. They’re gonna have to have really great age makeup.

CAROLINE: It exists. Remember “La Vie en Rose”? They aged Marion Cotillard incredibly well.

RYAN: That’s true. Maybe they can get that team. And Judy died relatively young, though she looked older than her age.

CAROLINE: That’s rough livin’, honey.

RYAN: At least Anne can actually sing. I have just always wanted her to play the role of Elphaba in the film version of “Wicked” and hope this doesn’t preclude that.

CAROLINE: But Ryan, there’s no guarantee there’s even going to be a “Wicked” movie anytime soon.

RYAN: I know. It’s totally wishful thinking. I just really want that. I do see some resemblance between Anne and Judy in the eyes, mouth, etc…

CAROLINE: She’s on a roll after her recent Oscar nod – you should be rejoicing.

RYAN: You’re right. This is a much better idea than I originally thought.

CAROLINE: Exactly.

RYAN: OMG! I’m so excited!

CAROLINE: Settle down.
