CAROLINE: So this is random – did you hear they’re going to make a new “Beverly Hills Cop” movie?

RYAN: Seriously? Just because Indy 4 was really successful doesn’t mean every ’80s franchise has to come out of the woodworks and make a fourth movie.

CAROLINE: Yeah, but Eddie Murphy needs a hit, and I don’t think the forthcoming “Meet Dave” is going to cut it.

RYAN: So he’ll be back playing Axel Foley?

CAROLINE: Naturally. Brett Ratner is set to direct, and it’s scheduled to come out in the summer of 2010. And unlike the original three, the rumor is it’s going to be rated PG or PG-13. Apparently Brett Ratner wants to make the new movie more accessible to the younger audience who doesn’t know the franchise.

RYAN: Also known as – he wants it to be kid/family friendly so it can potentially make more money.

CAROLINE: That’s true, you’re absolutely right.

RYAN: Here’s hoping it’ll be funny. Bring back Bronson Pinchot!
