RYAN: So the 2008 MTV Movie Awards will air this year on June 1st.
CAROLINE: I actually sort of don’t care.
RYAN: I know. Me neither. But let’s look at why.
CAROLINE: Maybe it’s because the winners know who they are ahead of time?
RYAN: Or because it’s produced like the VMAs – sloppy and all over the place.
CAROLINE: And with random categories like best kiss… Does that really merit an award? They’re just so irrelevant.
RYAN: Well, interestingly there’s a TV business big-wig who disagrees with you there. Mark Burnett, the exec behind Survivor and The Apprentice has gone on record saying the MTV Movie Awards are “the most relevant movie award show in America today.”
CAROLINE: Clearly, he’s off his rocker. What’s in it for him to say something like that?
RYAN: He’s this awards show’s executive producer.
CAROLINE: Exactly. Done and done.
