Movie News – 3D Goes Vintage!
RYAN: We really can’t say it enough, how great the new digital 3D looks in movies. And the films are doing relatively well.
CAROLINE: Plus, didn’t you say that, like, almost every Disney movie coming out from now on is gonna be in 3D?
RYAN: Yeah. But apparently that’s not enough. Studios are dipping back into older movies and reinventing them in 3D – like “Beauty and the Beast.”
CAROLINE: Oh I loved that one. It was nominated for best picture.
RYAN: And not just animated movies. James Cameron is reportedly testing a 3D version of 1997’s “Titanic.”
CAROLINE: Well that would make sense. The climax in that film practically looks 3D already. It’s so cool when the ship pops up, breaks in half and dives into the ocean.
RYAN: I know. I feel like they only need to make that part 3D, though the whole thing would be cool too. But it’s not like they need to rerelease it and make more money, please.
CAROLINE: Seriously, it’s one of the most successful films ever.
RYAN: Would you go see “When Harry Met Sally” in 3D?
CAROLINE: OMG of course!
RYAN: I’d like to request “The Wizard of Oz” in 3D.
CAROLINE: I doubt they’d do it for a 1939 movie.
RYAN: But you know a remake would never be as good as the original, so maybe a 3D version of it could be fantastic.
CAROLINE: Have any other movies been tested?
RYAN: Yeah – “The Matrix” and “Transformers.”
CAROLINE: I could see that. Everyone wants a piece o’ the 3D action.
