JUST MY LUCK
CAROLINE: I sure am, Ryan, and it’s because I saw “Just My Luck.”
RYAN: Just my luck, too.
CAROLINE: Starring Lindsay Lohan and cute guy.
RYAN: Yes, it was real fun for us. I have to tell you, right off the bat, I loved the opening titles.
CAROLINE: They were cute.
RYAN: I thought they were cute and clever and fun and silly and fresh.
CAROLINE: This is a good movie for both the ‘tween and teen set. And us, of course.
RYAN: The girls and the gays.
CAROLINE: All of the above. But having read the reviews, which are pretty terrible, I say “au contraire.” I enjoyed myself watching this movie, thank you.
RYAN: Me too. It was better than “Failure to Launch.”
CAROLINE: Oh, infinitely!
RYAN: It was fun. It’s the kind of movie when you catch it again and again and again on cable, you’ll watch it.
CAROLINE: Or a plane.
RYAN: Right.
CAROLINE: Totally. At first, I was not loving Lindsay. I felt like I was just watching Lindsay Lohan in a movie because she’s so famous now that you can’t see her as a character. But then as it went on, I started to like her more, and I was into it.
RYAN: I think she looks absolutely gorgeous!
CAROLINE: I like her with red hair, it’s much better.
RYAN: Yeah. I was never a fan of her beauty, she was always just Lindsay Lohan – but I’m walking out of this theater thinking, “Lindsay Lohan is beautiful.”
CAROLINE: Yeah, she looked good, which is more than I can say for the girls who play her two friends. Hello!
RYAN: They were a little busted.
CAROLINE: They were a hot mess, I’ll tell you what.
RYAN: Exactly, and it’s really interesting to see former American Idol, Ruben Studdard.
CAROLINE: (laughs)
RYAN: Making his movie debut.
CAROLINE: Playing the role of Diddy.
RYAN: Very etrange.
CAROLINE: That was joke, by the way, for our readers. Ruben’s not really in the movie.
RYAN: It was just a large man who could be him.
CAROLINE: In a Diddy-esque role.
RYAN: It’s a fat joke. Final thought?
CAROLINE: The movie is like “Freaky Friday,” but romantical. I really liked it, it was cute, and hell, I’d see it again.
RYAN: Yeah, I’d sit through it again.
CAROLINE: Much better than I expected. It’s a romantic comedy, I won’t lie, so it won’t be for everyone. I won’t tell you to go see it if you’re a man in your 30s who isn’t Ryan.
RYAN: (laughs)
CAROLINE: I enjoyed it. Totally adorable. Acceptable for young and old. A fun holiday film.
RYAN: Holiday?
CAROLINE: Yes. We’re celebrating May 12.
RYAN: Oh ok. Hardy har har. But I agree and if you’re not in the mood for one of the blockbusters, “Poseidon” or “M:I III,” right now, and you just want a great, fun, really cute romantic comedy that’s definitely not a waste of your time, this is it.
CAROLINE: And it’s got some fun slapstick stuff going on.
RYAN: A little “I Love Lucy.”
CAROLINE: Sure.
RYAN: It’s like a fun sitcom. But movie-length.
