Holiday Gift Guide 2015

I’m reviewing more than just movies for this year’s holiday gift guide! The theme is music – and the gift of entertainment comes in many fantastic forms!

Encyclopedia Madonnica 20: Madonna from A to Z, UnauthorizedEncyclo Madonnica

Whether you’re a lover of music’s most iconic grande dame, or simply a lover of music – this tome is incredibly detailed, thorough, informative, funny and gorgeous! It’s one gift that will keep on giving – with almost 600 pages of tidbits spanning Madge’s life and career. The book is broken down alphabetically and includes more than you could imagine – from her friendships to videos, relationships to albums – lit’rally everything you’ve ever wanted to know – and more! – is here. It’s full-color pages and oversized layout make it coffee-table worthy; to be enjoyed by all who sit with it or briefly peruse it. The photos and artwork, alone, make it a fun “read;” but the reprinted articles, definitions of her life’s moments, and new anecdotes by the author, make it as compelling as any hit song in her catalog. I’m awestruck by the amount of time and effort author Matthew Rettenmund put into this. It’s clearly a labor of love that every Madonna fan will love and obsess over. Truly a wonderful gift for the holidays or any time of year! Click here to buy

Greg Page is known to youngsters (and parents) as the original Yellow Wiggle (The Wiggles) but showcases he Sinatra’bility on Here Comes Christmas, a festive collection of merry tunes to brighten the holiday spirit. Page brings his unique Aussie swagger to Xmas classics like “Winter Wonderland,” and “Silver Bells,” but also features new songs he cowrote with Alec Miller. The disc also includes bonus tracks from his DVD children series Butterscotch’s Playground. But it’s not just for kiddies. There’s always room in your collection for new interpretations of great Christmas music.  Click here to buy
