HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS: PART 2
RYAN: Like the poster says, “It all ends.”
CAROLINE: Honey are you gonna be okay?
RYAN: [laughs’ Yes. I’m perfect and so is this movie! It’s the perfect ending to the series that has brought so many of us such joy for a decade now.
CAROLINE: What are you gonna miss most?
RYAN: I think the story and also the excitement and anticipation of something new to look forward to. There are, of course, many movies I’m always looking forward to but this franchise has been extra special.
CAROLINE: I’ve always liked these movies and the books as well. It’s nice to see it completed.
RYAN: I’ve really liked each successive film more than the last and that is the case here once again. As fulfilled as I was with the book’s conclusion, I’m as satisfied with the way this final film turned out.
CAROLINE: I’m glad to hear you say it. I’ve seen all of these movies with you and can’t wait to see this last one.
RYAN: I’ve seen it three times already, most notably at the premiere which was beyond and you know I’ll see it a gazillion more times.
CAROLINE: So go ahead… break it down.
RYAN: The entire cast is in top form and Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint all give the most solid performances. Maggie Smith kicks arse. Helena Bonham Carter and Ralph Fiennes are brilliant, of course. Matthew Lewis, aka Neville Longbottom, finally gets some love. And then there’s Alan Rickman, who as Professor Snape, is already garnering a bit of Oscar buzz for his performance.
CAROLINE: Wow. That’s unexpected. The franchise has never been the darling of the academy but this is its last chance.
RYAN: Best Picture!
CAROLINE: [laughs’ We’ll have to wait and see.
RYAN: The effects are outstanding. The score, design, cinematography, all of it is just truly impeccable.
CAROLINE: How’s the 3D?
RYAN: I did my due diligence. I’ve seen it in 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D and am so pleased to report the 3D is excellent. It’s subtle but always noticeable. Instead of jutting out at you, it’s often giving depth within the picture and it’s good.
CAROLINE: That’s great to know.
RYAN: Already one of the best films of the year and certainly my automatic favorite. Love it!
