FRACTURE

CAROLINE: We’re on a hot streak! We’ve actually seen another pretty good movie.

RYAN: “Fracture” is well-cast, well-written and dramatic.

CAROLINE: Suspenseful even. And we liked it especially because of Ryan Gosling. But more importantly, we love his girlfriend Rachel McAdams, and though the two of them are rumored to be on the rocks, we choose to think they’re not.

RYAN: And it’s got Ant’ny Hopkins, the legend. It was great to see him reprise the role of Hannibal Lecter.

CAROLINE: [laughs’ He is indeed Hannibal-esque in this movie. It’s a courtroom drama and I must say, it was great for the first hour but then it flagged a little in the middle. The music got a little heavy and overwrought, but then the end was good and the movie was revived and all was right with the world.

RYAN: The blond gal, Rosamund Pike, was horrendous.

CAROLINE: She’s Ryan Gosling’s love interest/colleague in the film and she does a terrible American accent. She’s also not so attractive.

RYAN: I hated her character’s name. And she was awkward; just an unnatural performance.

CAROLINE: Her whole plotline was silly and implausible. It was just unnecessary.

RYAN: They only threw her in to add some sex to the film.

CAROLINE: Totally.

RYAN: It’s not a perfect movie and it definitely could have been cut down a little. But there are some amazing crane shots.

CAROLINE: The lighting was really cool in the courtroom scenes. It was very real-looking and almost creepy.

RYAN: Bottom line?

CAROLINE: I liked this movie. I think I would recommend it. The great movie season hasn’t started yet, but I think it’s finally heating up a little bit with movies like this.

RYAN: I recommend it too. It’s well-directed, it’s got great actors and it definitely holds your attention.

CAROLINE: And I always like to see that girl who was in “Junebug.” She plays Anthony Hopkins’s wife. She’s also McDreamy’s sister on “Grey’s Anatomy.”

RYAN: She plays a great coma girl.
