FLAWLESS

CAROLINE: Demetria Moore has a new movie, “Flawless,” co-starring Michael Caine.

RYAN: Welcome back to the five-and-dime, Demi Moore. It’s good to see you, and you look fabulous.

CAROLINE: Her body is incredible, but it annoyed me is that her character is supposed to be thirty-something. She so can’t pass for that anymore.

RYAN: The movie begins with her as an elderly woman, and the rest of the movie is a flashback; but her old age makeup was some of the worst makeup I’ve ever seen in a film. It looks like a 15-year-old did it.

CAROLINE: [laughs’ True, but her bod is boomin’. She plays a diamond executive in 1960s London, and she gets to wear some fabulous suits.

RYAN: I love that it’s a period piece, and I really liked the relationship between her and Michael Caine, who plays a janitor. It also shows an interesting time in feminist history what with her job and how she’s treated by the men there.

CAROLINE: BTW I spent the first fifteen minutes thinking, “Oh my God, Demi Moore really can’t commit to her English accent,” and I was totally annoyed. She just sounded kind of Continental and I thought she didn’t know how to do a good British accent. But then it turns out she’s just an American living abroad, and all was right with the world.

RYAN: And when you live over there, you do pick up a little bit of an accent. We just don’t accept it when it comes to Madonna.

CAROLINE: [laughs’ She was speaking in a British accent before she’d ever been to London.

RYAN: This movie has some good suspense and tension. It’s also beautifully shot.

CAROLINE: I think it’s an interesting choice for Demi. This is a small, indie kind of movie; definitely not a blockbuster.

RYAN: LBH, I don’t think she’s getting blockbuster offers these days.

CAROLINE: True, but she’s still a pretty big name. I think she’s just trying to get her sea legs back. We haven’t seen her in anything for five years other than “Bobby.” It’s a wise move for her. I don’t think she’ll be making “Striptease 2” any time soon. She’s saying, “Hey, don’t forget about me. I’m actually a decent actress, and I can even do a faux British accent if you need me to.”

RYAN: I noticed her voice doesn’t really have that raspiness anymore though. Bottom line?

CAROLINE: It’s a cool heist movie, but not as fun or exciting as something like “The Bank Job.” It’s a little more serious.

RYAN: It’s also not based on a true story, and it’s totally implausible.

CAROLINE: I enjoyed it, but I wouldn’t say you have to run out and see it in the theater.

RYAN: I had low to no expectations, but I enjoyed it. The girls and the gays always like to see Demi in a film. If you want to check it out, I don’t think you’ll regret it.
