CHLOE

RYAN: OMG this movie! Chloe really surprised me. I loved it.

CAROLINE: It’s a smaller, indie movie that hasn’t received a lot of press but you sure had a big reaction to it. I haven’t been able to catch it yet. Why did you love it so?

RYAN: It’s just such great drama. Like, “Holy oh no – that’s not happening!” You just sort of cringe in your seat a bit and love every second of it. It’s drama you can savor. And it’s pretty sexy too.

CAROLINE: Julianne Moore, Liam Neeson and Amanda Seyfried star. They’re all pretty hot.

RYAN: They’re very well-written roles for all good actors. I imagine each of them must have read the script and been like, “I got this.” Although Amanda’s role is really a stretch for her – she plays a prostitute.

CAROLINE: She’s trying for her Pretty Woman?

RYAN: [laughs’ Well, this is no romantic comedy.

CAROLINE: It’s directed by Atom Egoyan who did The Sweet Hereafter. He’s got a good rep.

RYAN: Really, the costumes, set design and camera work are all really delicious. It’s not a period piece but has the weight of it in some ways. He’s definitely a talented director. Amanda’s makeup is great too. At the very beginning of the film you see her acting out her clients’ fantasies. She’s intense.

CAROLINE: I love her career trajectory lately. She’s such an up-and-comer since Mamma Mia!

RYAN: I dig her. When you look at that, then this and even her turn in Jennifer’s Body, I think she’s a really good actress.

CAROLINE: Honey, please – I loved her in Dear John. Yes, I’m a huge sap.

RYAN: The lead girl from TV’s Vampire Diaries also has a bit part in this movie and I’m watching that series so it was fun to see her here.

CAROLINE: Some kids will love that.

RYAN: Though this is really not a film for the Twilight set.

— BOTTOM LINE —

RYAN: It’s a dramatic, suspenseful, sexy movie that will definitely hold your interest. It’s rated R and a good, smart, slow-burn of a film that I have to recommend.
