A Haunted House Review

RYAN: Seeing the movie A Haunted House made me very unhappy with the whole situation.  It’s with Marlon Wayans and spoofs the Paranormal Activity movies.  I hate those movies so it stands to reason I would loathe this film.  And I do.  And on top of all the reasons why I hate those movies, this wa even worse, adding all the stupid fart and gross jokes into the mix.

LEAH: I actually like horror movies and have seen a couple of the Paranormal Activity movies which I thought were ok; however, this movie was a waste of an hour and twenty minutes of my life.  The comedy was not funny.  There were excessive fart jokes and they could have been funny but they went overboard.

RYAN: Yeah this movie kept crossing the line of ridiculousness.LEAH: There was no shred of subtlety here.  The acting, especially the female lead, was horrible.

RYAN: I didn’t laugh even one.  This movie was painful for me to sit through.  My biggest qualm with the Paranormal movies is that nothing happens for the first 90% of the movie.  This, on the other hand, had things happening throughout and I have enjoyed spoof movies in the past, but nothing was done well or funny.  And for all that we were not laughing, there were people in the theater almost gasping for breath, stomping their feet laughing.  Who are these people?!LEAH: It takes all kinds.  We obviously have a different sense of humor.

RYAN: I’m angry that people saw this and liked it.  I want to judge them but we cannot do that.  We are all obviously entitled to our opinions and there’s something for everyone.  But I just don’t get this one.LEAH: Yeah this movie attracts a certain person with a certain sense of humor.

RYAN: They’re stupid.LEAH: [laughs’]
RYAN: I’m kidding!LEAH: I will say Marlon is hot though.

RYAN: For an hour and twenty minutes, it felt like four hours.  This is a joke of a movie.
