MADAGASCAR 3: EUROPE’S MOST WANTED

RYAN: I had the distinct pleasure of screening this film with my niece and nephew.  And I though it was really fun.  What did you think?
GABY: I really liked the Polka Dot Afro song.  And it’s colorful and directed well and I just thought it showed some realistic and unrealistic scenes.  I liked that.
RYAN: What did you find realistic? The talking animals?
GABY: [laughs’ Yeah! Well no, the animals in the circus.  But the unrealistic thing was seeing them fly around and being able to do crazy stunts.

RYAN: I like that you mentioned how colorful it was because it really does have a unique color palette in parts.  There’s a great scene at the end that looks like it’s neon under black light.  Very cool.
GABY: Yeah that was neat.
RYAN: I loved Frances McDormand’s vocal talents.  She was very funny and maniacal.  Who was your favorite character?
GABY: I really liked the bear and the lemur that fell in love with her.
RYAN: What about the main characters?

GABY: My favorite had to be the Zebra because he was so funny and I love that Circus Afro song.
RYAN: You didn’t know that was Chris Rock!
GABY: I didn’t recognize his voice.
RYAN: I also really liked Ben Stiller.  I actually prefer him as an animated lion… so we don’t have to deal with his crazy over-acting eyes. I thought this had a good theme – about wanting to get home; sort of Wizard of Oz that way.
GABY: And at the end something happens that happened the exact same way as in the first movie.
RYAN: Without giving anything away, it does come full circle to the first movie.

GABY: At school we saw a preview for it and a lot of people started singing that song so I think other kids my age will like it and want to see it too.
RYAN: And what did you think?
NOAH: I thought it was really funny and creative.
RYAN: What was your favorite part?

NOAH: When the bear got the motorcycle.

RYAN: Do you think your friends would like it too?
NOAH: Yeah because at school today we were watching YouTube videos and someone asked for the Afro song.
RYAN: What did you guys think of the 3D?  I thought it was good.
GABY: I think it was the best at the end.
— BOTTOM LINE —
GABY: I recommend it.
RYAN: It’s a really cute movie that will appeal to all ages.  Each of these movies has been fun and it’s still not tired in this sequel.
