DESPICABLE ME
RYAN: I was looking forward to seeing Despicable Me primarily since the little creatures in the trailer look so friggin’ cute.
CAROLINE: Those little yellow gents?
RYAN: Exactly.
CAROLINE: My interest was more piqued by the fact Steve Carell voices the lead character; however, since you know I can’t stand animated kids’ movies, I let you see the critics’ screening without me.
RYAN: You woulda liked this one.
CAROLINE: Why’s that?
RYAN: ‘Cause it’s that great kind of family film, like Toy Story or Shrek where there’s story and theme for all ages to relate to.
CAROLINE: Fair enough. I did like Horton Hears a Who. How was Steve in it?
RYAN: He’s fab in everything he does. He works a seriously Euro-derived accent in this and it’s silly and fun.
CAROLINE: And did you see it in 3D too?
RYAN: Yes, and I’m happy to report it’s a good version of 3D. And anyone seeing it should stay for the credits at the end. You can’t help but love the minions.
CAROLINE: What are they really?
RYAN: They’re minions. They’re, like, the little henchmen for Steve’s character. He plays a wicked villain who adopts three little orphans to do his bidding for him. And the story turns out to be very touching actually.
CAROLINE: Uh oh – did you get misty again?
RYAN: No, but I connected with it for sure. It’s a fun, easy-to-sit-through flick.
CAROLINE: Any other famous voices in it?
RYAN: Julie Andrews, Russell Brand, Jason Segel, Will Arnett and Kristen Wiig.
CAROLINE: God. Wiig’s in every movie these days and I love it!
— BOTTOM LINE —
RYAN: This movie’s great. It’s the right combo of cute, clever, fun, funny and touching. Take the kids or let yourself escape just for the hell of it.

I so wanna watch this movie. The trailer itself and its characters speak for the movie itself. And, yeah, those minions are cute but they're like creeping me out but I have to see it to see how cute they really are. LOLSteve Carell is just, you're right, amazing in what he does. Such a talented person. I like him in Get Smart opposite Anne Hathaway. Funny guy, that Steve.
