MACGRUBER

RYAN: The feature-length MacGruber, based on the popular, recurring SNL skit is one of the worst films I’ve ever seen.

CAROLINE: What? OMG I thought I was hearing some good buzz about it recently – though it did not screen for critics.

RYAN: I did see a barely-early screening just last night and can say with confidence it is abba-solutely painful to watch.

CAROLINE: Honey, please break it down.

RYAN: It’s the lowest, dumbest humor, bloody, boring, stupid and… homophobic. I was considerably offended a few times and you know I have a sense of humor.

CAROLINE: Please. You’re the funniest person I know. That just sounds like several bad things in one movie.

RYAN: Honestly, had I not taken a friend along to the screening, I’d have walked out before halfway through.

CAROLINE: Thank goodness I didn’t see it!

RYAN: Of course, we like Will Forte and Kristen Wiig but this was not the movie for them. It’s so totally stretching for time and so freakin’ lame. Val Kilmer makes his Hollywood comeback but looks so puffy and chunky – like Brando before he kicked it. And please tell me why Ryan Phillippe is there?

CAROLINE: It’s called a paycheck.

RYAN: Reese Witherspoon must be bowled over with laughter somewhere.

CAROLINE: Were there any other fun SNL cameos or anything?

RYAN: Just Maya Rudolph who was brill of course, but hardly in it.

CAROLINE: That’s it?

RYAN: That’s all she wrote. This movie’s terrible.

— BOTTOM LINE —

RYAN: It’s definitely not worth your money in the theater and I can’t say I’d even recommend it as a rental or on cable someday.
