New on DVD
CAROLINE: One of the cutest movies of the year, “Adventureland,” is new on DVD this week. I think this is one of my favorites of the year so far. I loved all the teenage angst.
RYAN: Kristen Stewart was great in it. I adore her, and though we all know she’s not the best actress, in this, she was perfect.
CAROLINE: It’s a great movie for people who grew up in the ’80s. The soundtrack is awesome and the story is so relatable. And the fact that it takes place in an amusement park just adds to the hilarity. I wish Bill Hader and Kristin Wiig had bigger parts though.
RYAN: Totally! They were not used well in this movie.
CAROLINE: Plus it’s got a sweet, touching love story. Honestly, this is a must-see if you’re our age. Great cast, and Ryan Reynolds is hot. Rent it!
RYAN: Next up is “Duplicity” and yeah… not so much.
CAROLINE: [sigh’ I had such high hopes for this movie. You know how I love my Clive Owen. It seemed tailor-made for us. And then it all went wrong.
RYAN: Yeah, it was a big old mess. The cast was fab, but nothing clicked. It moved back and forth in time so much that it got confusing.
CAROLINE: And I could never tell who was working with whom and who was against whom. This was supposed to be a huge movie – hello, it stars Julia Roberts and Clive Owen! But it’s made only $40 million.
RYAN: That’s pathetic. I expected more from the man who directed “Michael Clayton.” Rent it at your own risk.
