New on DVD

CAROLINE: There’s a plethora of mediocre new releases on DVD today, starting with the Nicolas Cage sci-fi thriller, “Knowing.”

RYAN: Hey, I loved that movie! And so did you, I as recall.

CAROLINE: I didn’t love it; I just didn’t hate it as much as I expected to. You know I’m not a Nicolas Cage fan.

RYAN: I feel sorry for people who missed this on the big screen. It’s absolutely apocalyptic and the special effects of the disaster scenes were amazing!

CAROLINE: They were almost a little too scary and true-to-life for me. I will admit this movie has some cool elements, but I couldn’t get into it as much as you did.

RYAN: That’s because you’re not a huge sci-fi geek like I am. The next new DVD release for the week is “The Unborn.”

CAROLINE: Do we even need to get into this one?

RYAN: Honey, don’t even start; I’m the one who had to sit through it in the theater, not you. Horrendous. Painful.

CAROLINE: I guess all the crap movies from the beginning of the year are now coming out on DVD… so while we’ve got good offerings in the theaters these days, the rental situation is weak.

RYAN: Exactly. That’s why we’re not even gonna mention that Dakota Fanning train wreck that no one saw, “Push.”

CAROLINE: OMG I just saw a commercial for the DVD release yesterday! It co-stars the very cute Chris Pine. I had completely forgotten about this movie.

RYAN: So did everyone else.
