Movie News – New Comic Book Movie

RYAN: Once again, with the success of the film version of graphic novel “Watchmen,” there are ever more comic book films in the works.

CAROLINE: Good God. Is there at least going to be a female comic book hero coming up?

RYAN: I haven’t heard – though DC is starting a new comic book series called Bat-Woman this summer.

CAROLINE: …that you even know that worries me.

RYAN: [laughs’ But the new movie currently in production is directed by Steven Spielberg and produced by Peter Jackson.

CAROLINE: OMG it’s gonna be huge!

RYAN: It’s Tintin.

CAROLINE: Oh.

RYAN: I know. Random. He’s a boy reporter; not a superhero. And he’s not as popular here as in other countries.

CAROLINE: Well maybe they’ll make it cool somehow.

RYAN: It’s stop motion, like “Coraline” and while Spielberg shot the scenes, Jackson is working on all the special effects.

CAROLINE: With those two powerhouses behind it, we can expect some movie magic.

RYAN: Well they’re already planning a three-film franchise.

CAROLINE: Ben DeJesus!
