NANNY McPHEE

RYAN: I gotta tell you. I saw “Nanny McPhee” this weekend.

CAROLINE: Yes?

RYAN: I know I couldn’t have paid you enough money to see this film with me so I had to beg my friends. The only reason I went was because…

CAROLINE: You were dying to see it. Admit it.

RYAN: Ok. Ok. You got me. I did wanna see it. But I do have an alibi. I was with a small child.

CAROLINE: Fair enough.

RYAN: I was with Krissy and my pal Susan who brought along her daughter Hannah… who is SO adorable. Tres adorable. It was fun hearing her laugh during it.

CAROLINE: Yes, well, she, unlike you, is the target audience, I believe.

RYAN: Hey! I’m sure they’re happy to get any viewers they can get. And I’m here to tell you it was really, really well done and enjoyable.

CAROLINE: Ok.

RYAN: C’mon. A great talent: Emma Thompson; not only stars in it, but also wrote the screenplay.

CAROLINE: She does have that talent, I remember, from “Sense and Sensibility.”

RYAN: And she did not disappoint here. This is a real treat for the eyes. The costumes, the sets… both so colorful. The special effects were wonderful. The kids are so great. If you like kids…

CAROLINE: Right.

RYAN: The little boy from “Love Actually…” is in it.

CAROLINE: Oh, he’s cute. But isn’t Emma’s snaggletooth gross?

RYAN: Please. It’s so gross. But I don’t wanna give anything away.

CAROLINE: Is it a magical snaggletooth?

RYAN: (laughs) Not a magical snaggletooth. But there is a plot point around it.

CAROLINE: Well that, alone, is enough to not make me wanna see the film.

RYAN: What about this? You know in movies where we grab each other’s arms during romantic moments cuz they’re about to kiss?

CAROLINE: Yes?

RYAN: The love story in this movie.

CAROLINE: “Nanny McPhee?!?!”

RYAN: I don’t wanna out myself, but I almost cried at the end of “Nanny McPhee.”

CAROLINE: You’re telling me that “Nanny McPhee” is a love story?

RYAN: An amazing one.

CAROLINE: Is it between two dogs or something?

RYAN: Hey! That’s getting a little personal, Lion!

CAROLINE: (laughs)

RYAN: It was between a man and a woman, but I was still able to identify and relate. I was swept up into it. Anyway. Enough said. It was great. Anyone out there who has a small child to take, as an accessory to this movie… do it.

CAROLINE: Or for those of you, like Ryan, who like kids’ movies…

RYAN: You’ll like this.
