New on DVD

CAROLINE: Drumroll please… it’s the moment half the world has been waiting for. “The Dark Knight” is finally out on DVD today, with a 2-disc special edition.

RYAN: Suffice it to say this is just going to rake in millions more with the DVD release. It’s already made $530 million domestically. Can you believe?

CAROLINE: That is just incredible. And the movie is going to be re-released in theaters in January too. They’re really pushing it hard for the Oscar campaign, but I don’t think it’s Best Picture material. I liked it up to a point, but it wasn’t my favorite movie of the year or anything.

RYAN: Me neither, but it’s definitely not to be missed. It’s easily the biggest movie of the year.

CAROLINE: Heath Ledger is all that in it too. It was just so damn long. It’s a must-see though, whether on DVD or in the theater next year.

RYAN: I personally liked Aaron Eckhart the best. He was so fantastic as Harvey Dent.

CAROLINE: Too bad Maggie Gyllenhaal was so horribly miscast.

RYAN: Ugh. Also new on DVD today is “Horton Hears a Who,” the very cute Dr. Seuss movie from earlier this year featuring the voices of Steve Carell and Jim Carrey.

CAROLINE: This was the rare animated children’s film that I actually enjoyed, probably because I love Steve Carell so much. Plus it was so darn cute.

RYAN: It really was adorable, and it has a good message for the young ‘uns. It’s a great rental for kids and adults alike.

CAROLINE: For once I’ll agree with you on that. I fully enjoyed this one, even if I did doze briefly while watching it.

RYAN: Hey, I’m just thrilled that I got you to see an animated movie that you didn’t hate.

Thanks For Viewing The New on DVD
