Movie News – Wicked the Musical Movie

RYAN: This is some news I’ve been waiting for, for five years now. In this recent article, Kristin Chenoweth talks about the inevitability of the movie version of this hit Broadway musical – Wicked.

CAROLINE: I’ve always assumed there would be a movie made of it.

RYAN: I know. I just hope the recent buzz is a good sign of activity. And I’ve checked out IMDb.com and it’s listed Baz Luhrmann as the director!

CAROLINE: That would be something. He certainly handled the musical “Moulin Rouge” very well.

RYAN: And “The Wizard of Oz” looms large in his current film “Australia.” I think he would do incredibly brilliant things with Wicked.

CAROLINE: Well IMDb is known to often publish non-studio-confirmed information.

RYAN: I know. I’m not getting my hopes up too high. But it would be the most… to say the least.

CAROLINE: …the very least.
