Independent Spirit Awards Nominees Announced
CAROLINE: Let the games begin! Awards season is officially underway with the announcement of the Independent Spirit Awards nominations.
RYAN: We’ve seen most of the nominated flicks, but some of them are way out there this year.
CAROLINE: Seriously! We see tons of movies and we’ve never even heard of “Ballast.”
RYAN: Right? But I’m thrilled about all the nominations for “Rachel Getting Married,” since, as you know, Anne Hathaway is my girl.
CAROLINE: Yeah, and this is always a fun awards show to watch. The Independent Spirit Awards take place the day before the Oscars and they’re a refreshing change of pace from all the glitz and drama of big awards shows.
RYAN: It’s also fun to see all the actors in their casual clothes. It’s like a fun dinner party… but with trophies. Here’s a list of the nominees in the major categories:
