New on DVD
CAROLINE: New on DVD this week we have the very cute Tina Fey/Amy Poehler movie, “Baby Mama.”
RYAN: I love these gals. I think this is one of my favorite comedies of the year. And the DVD will be great because it’s got audio commentary from both Amy and Tina.
CAROLINE: This movie has so many unexpected people in it too – Steve Martin, Sigourney Weaver and Greg Kinnear. I don’t think I loved it quite as much as you did, but it would definitely make a great rental. It’s very funny in parts, but also touching.
RYAN: Another one of my favorites from earlier this year is also out on DVD today – “The Forbidden Kingdom” with Jet Li and Jackie Chan.
CAROLINE: Thank God you saw this without me. It was so not up my alley.
RYAN: I loved this movie! I can’t rave about it enough. It’s gorgeous and reminiscent of “The Wizard of Oz.” And it stars the kid who played Jack’s son on “Will & Grace.”
CAROLINE: He’s all grown up now. Finally, “The Fall” is also new on DVD today. I don’t think anyone saw this movie except for us and our friend Cosmo.
RYAN: Probably not. But we simply had to see it due to our love of all things Lee Pace, who’s the star of TV’s “Pushing Daisies.”
CAROLINE: He’s beyond hot, and wears all kinds of cool make-up in this movie.
RYAN: I loved this movie. It’s so visual, and it contains a fantasy/fairy tale, which I always enjoy. The settings and costumes are gorgeous too.
CAROLINE: They filmed it in 18 different countries over four years. It’s a little out there, but if you like visually stunning, slightly bizarre movies, this one would be a great rental.
