New on DVD

CAROLINE: The two most interesting DVD releases today are – shockingly – two movies we haven’t seen. Given that we see almost everything, this is most unusual.

RYAN: Seriously. And it’s especially embarrassing because one of them, “Married Life,” stars our favorite actress, Rachel McAdams. We must rent it immediately.

CAROLINE: I heard so-so things about it, but it stars other great people like Chris Cooper and Patricia Clarkson. I’d love to see it.

RYAN: It’s a really small indie type movie, and it didn’t even make $2 million at the box office. But we’ll support Rachel McAdams in all her endeavors.

CAROLINE: Also new on DVD today is “The Promotion,” starring John C. Reilly and Seann William Scott.

RYAN: I remember really wanting to see this. They play supermarket employees competing for the same manager job.

CAROLINE: It looks pretty funny. And I’m always amazed that Seann William Scott still has an acting career. Good for him.

RYAN: It’s as slow a week for DVD releases as it is for movies. But don’t worry, people – it’ll pick up a lot next week.
