New on DVD

CAROLINE: The Jodie Foster/Abigail Breslin flick, “Nim’s Island,” is new on DVD today, and I can’t say I loved this one even a little.

RYAN: LBH, I liked it mainly because of Gerard Butler. But I also loved the whole children’s fantasy aspect too.

CAROLINE: Abigail Breslin was so not at the top of her game in this movie though.

RYAN: She’s been better in other things we’ve seen; but Jodie Foster was so great, and I loved seeing her back in this genre.

CAROLINE: I beg to differ. I don’t think she pulled off the comedy. She should stick to dramas.

RYAN: I love her in a drama, but it was so much fun seeing her in a family movie again. This is definitely worth a rental.

Another movie new on DVD today is “The Counterfeiters,” which won the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar this year.

RYAN: Usually we manage to see almost every Oscar winner, but we missed this one.

CAROLINE: It’s the true story of a Nazi counterfeiting operation, but that’s all I really know about it. I’ve heard it’s quite good though.

RYAN: I don’t know if I want to see anything about Nazis.

CAROLINE: You just don’t want to have to read sub-titles.

RYAN: Please – I enjoy a foreign film as much as the next gal. I just elected to skip this one.

Thanks For Viewing The New on DVD
