RealD 3D – The Future of Movies
RYAN: How phenomenal is the 3D in the new movie “Journey to the Center of the Earth” 3D?
CAROLINE: It’s incredible.
RYAN: I love it. And I really think it’s going to change the way movies are made. It’s the best 3D ever. The glasses are even a little chic.
CAROLINE: Isn’t it a 3D process developed by, like, NASA?
RYAN: Yes. And here’s the crazy news. DreamWorks and Disney/Pixar have announced all of their future animated films will be in 3D.
CAROLINE: Wow.
RYAN: Totally.
CAROLINE: Well it definitely enhances the entertainment value. I just hope they don’t skimp on story now that they can rely on visual trickery.
RYAN: That is a valid concern, to be sure. Here are some of the upcoming titles I’m psyched for:
“Monsters Vs. Aliens” (DreamWorks) in March 2009
“A Christmas Carol” (Disney) in November 2009
“Avatar” from director John Cameron (Fox) in December 2009
A new Tim Burton directed “Alice in Wonderland” 3D (Disney) in 2010
“Shrek 4” (DreamWorks) in 2010
CAROLINE: I’ll definitely see some of those.
RYAN: I think I’m more inclined to see anything if it’s in 3D.
CAROLINE: I’ll have to take them on a case by case basis.
