IRON MAN

RYAN: It’s finally here! “Iron Man” is the first major blockbuster of summer ’08.

CAROLINE: And we’re thrilled to report that it’s awesome!

RYAN: Robert Downey Jr. has never looked hotter.

CAROLINE: We thought he looked fabulous in “Charlie Bartlett” earlier this year, but he is truly gorgeous in “Iron Man.” Even though his insides have been ravaged by drugs, his outsides are bangin’. Clearly he worked hard on his fitness to prepare for this role.

RYAN: Honey, when you’re cast as a superhero, you have to look better than ever.

CAROLINE: If he didn’t have huge guns, we wouldn’t believe him as Iron Man.

RYAN: Gwyneth Paltrow is also in the film, unbeknownst to many because she’s barely in the trailer. Her character is great, and it’s an excellent performance from her. It’s the Gwyneth that you know and love and want; and she looks great too.

CAROLINE: It’s nice that she hasn’t adopted a faux British accent despite marrying a Brit and spending a lot of time in U.K. with gal pal Madonna. Her body is amazing, but I didn’t love her hair color and her invisible eyebrows.

RYAN: I really liked her red hair except when she wore it down. It looked better pulled back.

CAROLINE: I love how her character wore all black at all times – except for at that fancy party. And I loved the sexual tension between her and R.D. Jr!

RYAN: Beyond! It’s all we could ask for. The special effects are also great, the pacing is great, the length is perfect and the story is really good because they’ve made it contemporary and relevant. I think it’s better than most superhero films. It’s up there with the Spider-Man and Batman franchises because the story is so strong.

CAROLINE: And we must mention Jeff Bridges who is virtually unrecognizable in this role. I didn’t even believe it was him at first. He shaved his head and grew a beard to look like the comic book character, and it totally works.

RYAN: I loved watching Robert Downey Jr. create the Iron Man suit. His studio was so awesome. And I loved the rapport he has with his robots and how he talked to them.

CAROLINE: At times this movie reminded me of “Minority Report” because of all the cool technology and gadgets and holograms.

RYAN: His character, Tony Stark, is very acerbic and it works perfectly for Robert Downey Jr.’s personality. We met him on the red carpet once and he’s very sarcastic and funny.

CAROLINE: It really is the perfect role for him. And I’d like to say, “Welcome to the über-big time” to director Jon Favreau. He’s directed a couple movies before but now he’s up in the leagues of Brett Ratner with the “Rush Hour” franchise.

RYAN: This is a Michael Bay move for him.

CAROLINE: If there’s a sequel to this movie, which I’m sure there will be, I have to believe Jon Favreau will direct again. He did such a great job.

RYAN: There were a couple of scenes that indicated we’ll definitely be getting a sequel, which would thrill me. Bottom line?

CAROLINE: This is a big-time action/boy movie, which is a genre I don’t always love. But Robert Downey Jr. is truly amazing, and I loved the story and totally got into all the technology.

RYAN: It’s not just a boy movie though; it has a strong female character and great sexual tension, which adds a romantic element that makes it universal. It’s a must-see on the big screen for sure.

CAROLINE: Run, don’t walk, to the theater!

Thanks For Viewing The IRON MAN
