New on DVD

RYAN: One of my favorite movies of 2007, “There Will Be Blood,” is out on DVD today, and it’s a special 2-disc edition.

CAROLINE: This movie did not make my top five last year, but if you’re a man who likes old oil movies about the turn of the 20th century, then you should definitely rent this.

RYAN: Hello! Daniel Day-Lewis won an Oscar! It’s a brilliant and brilliantly acted film.

CAROLINE: I did like it and appreciate it at the time; I just can’t imagine renting it again. It’s nearly three hours long.

RYAN: But you’d never know that watching it. It moves so well. DVD extras include deleted scenes, a featurette called “The Story of Petroleum” and some other random stuff.

CAROLINE: See, that’s not making me want to run out and buy it.

RYAN: I agree, but it’s definitely worth renting if you missed it last year. When Daniel Day-Lewis makes a movie, you know it’s an event.

CAROLINE: And for the kiddies, “The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep” is also out today.

RYAN: My little niece cried at that movie.

CAROLINE: Parents, rent it at your own discretion. Happily, this is one kids’ movie I didn’t force myself to see.

Thanks For Viewing The New on DVD
