New on DVD
RYAN: It’s a pretty slow week for DVD releases, especially compared to last week’s greatness. That Stephen King movie, “The Mist,” is out today.
CAROLINE: I so couldn’t be bothered to see that.
RYAN: I had a moment of thinking I might, but then I bailed. It’s got Marcia Gay Harden and Thomas Jane, husband of Patricia Arquette. But it really didn’t look so hot.
CAROLINE: Moving on, “The Kite Runner” is also out on DVD today.
RYAN: You saw that without me, and I can’t say I regret missing it.
CAROLINE: It’s one of those movies that I could identify as being well made and the story is really interesting and I loved the book. But it’s kind of slow and didn’t fully engage me. It might be worth a rental though, especially if you liked the book.
RYAN: Any good DVD extras?
CAROLINE: The usual. Audio commentary from the director, Marc Forster, who also directed “Finding Neverland,” as well as the author of the book, Khalid Hosseini. Some featurettes on the filming of the movie.
RYAN: I’m not feeling it. Maybe I’ll give “The Mist” a shot though.
