New on DVD

RYAN: New on DVD today is “3:10 to Yuma,” which I loved but you didn’t bother to see.
CAROLINE: Hello, excuse me! I did wind up seeing it through a friend who got an advanced DVD copy. And I totally fell asleep while watching it.

RYAN: Are you serious? This is a great movie that you should rent immediately if you haven’t seen it. It’s got Christian Bale, Russell Crowe and of my personal faves, Ben Foster.

CAROLINE: It’s a decent movie I suppose, but it’s totally for boys. The DVD has audio commentary from the director, James Mangold, as well as deleted scenes and some random featurettes about outlaws and the old West.

RYAN: Please rent or buy it ASAP. Also out on DVD today is “Zodiac,” which is directed by the amazing David Fincher, but came out early in 2007 and therefore isn’t getting too much awards show attention.

CAROLINE: It’s a really long movie but it’s such an interesting story about this serial killer in California who was never caught. It’s got Jake Gyllenhaal, Mark Ruffalo and the always amazing Robert Downey Jr.

RYAN: I was kind of unsatisfied by the film, but it’s definitely provocative and worth renting.

CAROLINE: The DVD is a 2-disc set including a director’s cut and tons of extras, including audio commentary from the director as well as Jake G and Robert Downey Jr., and lots of info on the Zodiac and all his crimes. It’s such an interesting story.

RYAN: I think you liked it a little more than I did, but I’d still recommend it.
