New on DVD

RYAN: STOP THE PRESSES!!! New on DVD today – My favorite movie of 2007: “Stardust.” Starring Michelle Pfeiffer, Claire Danes and Robert De Niro, I loved it. It’s in my top 5 movies of all time and it is an absolute must see. Bobby De Niro gives the perf of his lifetime!

CAROLINE: I loved it too!! It didn’t fare too well at the box office, but it’s so worth renting. It’s a fantasy/fairy tale and it’s almost as good as “The Princess Bride,” one of my all-time faves. Robert De Niro is so surprising and Michelle Pfeiffer is so good as an evil witch, you won’t believe it.

RYAN: It doesn’t have tons of extras but it has deleted scenes and bloopers. I actually found a random store on 8th Avenue in NYC last week who was selling it so I already own this one… and it’s on constantly.

CAROLINE: Ok. Settle down. Also out today, “The Simpsons Movie”!RYAN: I so don’t care.

CAROLINE: I know, me neither. But I’m sure some people are very excited about it. I never got into “The Simpsons,” but for people who love it, this is a must see. And it’s got deleted scenes, as well as audio commentary from some of the cast members and animators to make you happy.

CAROLINE: I also want to give a shout out to “Once,” which comes out today too. This is a tiny little film about two musicians and I was obsessed with the soundtrack earlier this year. It’s absolutely amazing.

RYAN: I didn’t see this movie, but I remember you and some of our friends raving about it.

CAROLINE: Yeah, it was sort of an underground hit. Please rent it immediately.
