New on DVD
RYAN: A 2-disc DVD of “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End” comes out today!
CAROLINE: I don’t care much for this franchise. Why must all three movies be more than 2 1/2 hours? But I know you like it.
RYAN: The DVD has got the usual audio commentary, bloopers and some short films about the making of the movie, etc. This was really a movie to see on the big screen though.
CAROLINE: Yes, please make sure you have a ginormous TV to properly watch this DVD. Also out today is a movie that cracked me up like no other this year, “Superbad.”
RYAN: It’s also a 2-disc DVD with additional unrated footage and extended scenes.
CAROLINE: Ugh, they did that for the “40-Year-Old Virgin” DVD and I thought the extended version was so unfunny. The original is much better, which I’m sure is also true of “Superbad.”
RYAN: The DVD has tons of great extras too like deleted scenes, a gag reel and tons of behind-the-scenes stuff like audition tapes, the original read-through of the script and someone having a meltdown at the junket.
CAROLINE: That sounds hilarious! This is a must-rent if you haven’t seen it and you’re over 18.
RYAN: Make it 16 – you sophomores can handle it.
