LOVE IN THE TIME OF CHOLERA

CAROLINE: I was all excited to go out and see “Love in the Time of Cholera,” but apparently I shouldn’t be rushing to the theater.

RYAN: No, you shouldn’t, because it sucked.

CAROLINE: OK wait. Seriously? It’s got Javier Bardem!

RYAN: And I larfed at him. He was so inappropriate it this role; it was just awkward. And he doesn’t look good either, but he’s supposed to be some heartthrob.

CAROLINE: God, I’m so disappointed. I’ve never read this book but I heard it was a sweeping, fabulous love story and I assumed the movie would be as well.

RYAN: I saw it with two friends, one of whom had read the book, and even she was laughing at and disgusted with this movie.

CAROLINE: Wow, I guess I’ll skip it then. Was anything good about it? Like the cinematography or something?

RYAN: It was fine, but nothing I didn’t appreciate just as much in something like “The Painted Veil.”

CAROLINE: That movie is about cholera too.

RYAN: OMG I love it! I hadn’t even realized when I made that comparison. BTW that drug mule girl from “Maria Full of Grace” was in this too, and it was fun to see her onscreen again.

CAROLINE: Ah yes, Catalina Sandino Moreno. She’s really good. So what’s your bottom line on this movie?

RYAN: If you’re at all interested in this story, skip the movie and read the book.

Thanks For Viewing The LOVE IN THE TIME OF CHOLERA
