New on DVD

RYAN: It’s a big day for DVD releases! “Live Free or Die Hard” is out, which was probably our favorite action flick of the summer.

CAROLINE: Definitely! This is a great flick that would have been better to see on the big screen; but if you haven’t yet seen it, rent it immediately.

RYAN: It’s a 2-disc DVD with audio commentary from the director, Len Wiseman, as well as some featurettes and behind-the-scenes stuff.

CAROLINE: Don’t miss it! Also out on DVD today is “Hairspray,” a fabulous movie musical from this summer.

RYAN: There’s a regular version and also a 2-disc Shake & Shimmy Edition if you want all the fun extras and stuff.

CAROLINE: Also worth an honorable mention on DVD today is “Rescue Dawn,” which stars Christian Bale, whom we adore. The DVD has deleted scenes and commentary from the director, Werner Herzog.

RYAN: There’s potential Oscar buzz for Christian Bale on this one, so if you love him, definitely check it out.
