RYAN: It’s an outrage, I tell you. An outrage!

CAROLINE: Settle down, now. What is?

RYAN: Trekkie legend William Shatner has been shut out from appearing, in any capacity, in the upcoming Star Trek film, helmed by J.J. Abrams.

CAROLINE: But we don’t even like Star Trek.

RYAN: I don’t either.

CAROLINE: I said we!

RYAN: Still, I feel for Bill Shatner. And he must feel like Shat.

CAROLINE: [laughs’]

RYAN: It’s like “Dreamgirls” all over again.

CAROLINE: ‘Cuz they snubbed Jennifer Holliday, of the Broadway show, from appearing in the film version.

RYAN: Yeah.

CAROLINE: Well I’m sure J.J. has his reasons.

RYAN: We’ll see. Or maybe we won’t. I don’t know if we’ll catch this flick when it hits theaters next year. We’ve never seen a Trek film.

CAROLINE: I haven’t either.

RYAN: I said we.
