New on DVD

CAROLINE: One of your favorite movies this year, “Hostel: Part II” comes out on DVD today.
RYAN: This is a truly brilliant horror film, so definitely rent it if you can stomach it. The DVD doesn’t have any extras, but it’s the unrated director’s version so it’s bound to be great. I might even have to rent it myself.

CAROLINE: You do love that Heather Matarazzo, and she’s in it. I myself won’t be renting it due to my hatred of gore.

RYAN: Also out on DVD today is a thriller that no one saw but us, “Mr. Brooks.”
CAROLINE: It stars Kevin Costner and Dane Cook, and it’s actually pretty good. I’m not sure why no one saw it because it’s a cool serial killer story.

RYAN: Don’t forget, Demi Moore is in it too, playing the token sexy cop. And the DVD has plenty of extras, from audio commentary by Kevin Costner, who also produced the film, deleted scenes as well as some cool behind-the-scenes stuff.

CAROLINE: This would be a fun weekend rental. It’s a slick film where Kevin Costner is actually not annoying, so check it out.
