CAROLINE: Check it out – they’re remaking “The Birds,” the old Hitchcock film. And guess who’s going to star?

RYAN: Do tell!

CAROLINE: None other than Nikki Kidman’s BFF, Naomi Watts, who’s currently starring in “Eastern Promises.” They say it’s going to be a re-imagination of the short story by Daphne du Maurier that the original movie was based on.

RYAN: Well I can’t imagine this is going to get underway very soon given the impending WGA strike.

CAROLINE: True that. And Naomi is currently in production on a movie called “The International” and then she’s got something else after that. So it won’t be happening any time soon.

RYAN: I just think it’s cool that they’re remaking such a classic thriller. Let’s hope it’s better than Gus Van Sant’s remake of “Psycho.”
