Golden Globes: Who Should be Nominated?
RYAN: We’re admittedly a little nervous, but tomorrow the Golden Globe nominations come out and I couldn’t be happier. Let the awards season commence!!!
CAROLINE: It’s a very exciting time for us. I read that there are 200 films eligible for Golden Globes, and while we certainly have not seen all of them, we’ve seen a fair amount of them and there are some obvious ones that are going to get nominated for Best Picture.
RYAN: I think “Dreamgirls” will sweep the nominations.
CAROLINE: I haven’t seen it yet, but I believe you. I also think “The Departed” is going to do very well in acting, directing and best picture categories.
RYAN: Also “Notes on a Scandal,” featuring Judi Dench and Cate Blanchett, which doesn’t come out until the end of the month. And “The Night Listener.”
CAROLINE: [laughs’ Now that’s funny. That was one of the worst movies we saw this year.
RYAN: Oui. I was joshin’ ya.
CAROLINE: I think Will Smith is going to get nominated for “The Pursuit of Happyness.”
RYAN: I agree.
CAROLINE: Don’t forget, people – this is the awards show that has both Drama and Comedy categories so basically everything but the kitchen sink gets nominated. And TV shows too.
RYAN: It’ll be interesting to see. And it’s always a good measure for Oscar predictions. ‘Tis the season for excitement in the Ryan and Caroline household.
CAROLINE: And I’m sure to be thrilled, as always, about Miss Golden Globe. This year, it’s Jack Nicholson’s daughter, and she’ll stand uselessly in the background with nothing to do. It’ll be great.
RYAN: (chuckles) We can’t wait for the show! Who’s hosting?
CAROLINE: There isn’t a host, you spaz.
RYAN: Oh. Duh. The nominations come out tomorrow. Look for our reaction then.
