Nikki Blonsky, star of the hit movie musical, “Hairspray,” has just been cast in her next film role.

She’s set to play Rhonda in a new teen comedy titled “Harold.” Ironically, the film will be shooting at the same middle school Nikki attended just a few years ago in Great Neck, NY.

Apparently, she’s had several offers after her break-out turn in “Hairspray” and has felt this role is the best follow up.

“Harold” also stars Ally Sheedy, Cuba Gooding, Jr., Colin Quinn and Spencer Breslin (older brother of Oscar nominee Abigail).

“Harold” is scheduled for a 2008 release.
