2012 Golden Globe Nominations
RYAN: It’s the most wonderful time of the year, people! And I’m not talking Christmas. The Golden Globes noms were announced this morning and there’s oh so much to discuss. Once again, I’m chagrined at the shutting out of the final Harry Potter film.
CAROLINE: Honey, you must get over it. There are many other quality films out this year to discuss. I’m excited about all the noms for The Descendants, which I loved. No big shocks in the Best Actress categories.
RYAN: How exciting for Kristen Wiig though! And I’m so glad they’re recognizing Bridesmaids too; comedies always get the shaft.
CAROLINE: Yeah, that’s one nice thing about the GGs; so many more films get recognized since they have both the Drama and Comedy/Musical categories. But LBH, it also makes some of the nominations kind of a joke. Let’s all remember how Johnny Depp and Angelina were nominated last year for the The Tourist? ‘Nuff said.
RYAN: The Artist, which we both still have to see, got the most nominations this year. And the big news is that Ryan Gosling got nominated for Best Actor in both the Drama and Comedy categories. That’s huge!
CAROLINE: It’s the year of the Gosling for shizz. For some reason, I just realized how hot he is a few weeks ago… so I say, bring it on!!
RYAN: I’m thrilled that the ladies of Carnage were both nominated. I’ve already seen it twice and will probably watch it again soon.
CAROLINE: The Golden Globes ceremony will be held on January 15 and is once again hosted by Ricky Gervais, who was famously told by the Hollywood Foreign Press that he’d never host the show again. So much for that.
